At a Christian conference in Missouri, Pastor Mark Driscoll was removed from the stage. This came after he criticized a sword-swallowing act and made derogatory remarks about transgender individuals. Driscoll likened the act to a strip club for women and stated that "the Jezebel spirit opened our event." The incident occurred during the Stronger Men's Conference hosted by James River Church, where Driscoll was a guest. He was asked to leave the stage by lead pastor John Lindell after calling on the audience to stand against LGBTQ+ community members. In 2014, he was asked to leave the Mars Hill Church amid accusations of bullying and mismanagement. His departure was brought on by a 2013 radio interview during which he was accused of plagiarizing another pastor's work.
