Daniel Radcliffe, known for his portrayal of Harry Potter, has expressed sadness over J.K. Rowling's anti-transgender comments. In an interview with The Atlantic, Radcliffe reflected on his relationship with Rowling and her recent remarks on the trans community. "It makes me really sad, ultimately. I do look at the person that I met, the times that we met, and the books that she wrote, and the world that she created, and all of that is to me so deeply empathic", said Radcliffe. He affirmed his support for the LGBTQ+ community, reiterating that transgender women are women. Radcliffe previously defended this stance in a 2020 essay for the Trevor Project. Rowling recently emphasized her refusal to forgive Harry Potter cast members who spoke out against her, such as Radcliffe and Emma Watson.
