Born John Gonzalez, Yawny started as a songwriter and journalist in New York City. In 2017 he moved to Los Angeles with the goal of uplifting and aligning himself with more queer voices. Mentored under Rodney Jenkins and Pharrell Williams, Yawny has written songs on upcoming projects from Keiynan Lonsdale, Dyllon Burnside, TikTok Star Marley Bleu, and The Voice Winner Cam Anthony.
