Jiggly Caliente, the Filipino-American drag performer and TV personality, passed away on April 27 at 44, after complications from a severe infection and leg amputation. The artist, whose real name was Bianca Castro, rose to fame after competing on the fourth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and the sixth season of “RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars”. Caliente later served as a judge on “Drag Race Philippines” and appeared in the acclaimed series “Pose”.  Her stage name, drawn from Pokémon’s Jigglypuff, went on to become iconic in drag culture. On April 24, her family announced that the star would step back from her duties to focus on recovery after battling a severe infection that led to the amputation of most of her right leg. Unfortunately, her health deteriorated rapidly after the surgery, leading to her death on April 27. “A luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy, Jiggly Caliente was celebrated for her infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity.
